I was buying three female betta fish for my community tank one day at PetCo, after reading that you could keep them together if you had lots of hiding places. PetCo's male bettas are five bucks more than the females. So one of the workers inquired about the bettas, and I explained that they were for my community tank. So he says, "Well you know, males can live together too, even though they're called fighting fish, they won't REALLY fight..."
I laughed in his face after he said that.
